A Little Bit about Windows Vista |
|
Microsoft announced Vista as being their FLAGSHIP operating system.
The operating system was finally release 18 months after it was promised.
The product has over 1,000 documented bugs and Microsoft is moving very slow at releasing fixes for these bugs.
The product performs poorly on most machines and requires 3 times the amount of RAM as a comparable XP Professional system.
They announce the Vista predecessor 1 month after the release date which tells you that they know that this is not a long term solution.
The new o/s is code name Vienna.
Microsoft has a need to keep their stock price going up and Vista or any new product release is designed to convince the investors that they are still a healthy company.
Vista has breached the trust that the consumer has with Microsoft especially since they are effectively blocking the sale of Windows XP in the retail channel.
Many of the business software packages require you to purchase new versions that are vista compatible in order to continue with the smooth operation of your business. Some of the more popular packages are Quickbooks, Autocad and others

As of July 1, 2008 Microsoft has announce that they will completely remove XP from the marketplace so the computer mfgs will not be able to offer XP at all.
They are however allowing you to downgrade your Vista to XP Professional on your own. But the key to doing this is having the drivers for the motherboard. |
